When a <strong>substance\/mixture<\/strong> is <strong>dangerous according to CLP Regulation<\/strong> the SDS must be provided to the distributor\/retailer. No need for an explicit request.<br \/>\nIf the mixture is not dangerous but it contains hazardous substances a SDS must be provided on request.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\"><\/p>\n<p>Which vaping products require a mandatory SDS?<\/h3><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nicotine<\/strong>\/<strong>zero nicotine e-liquids<\/strong> if, as a result of a CLP classification, are <strong>considered hazardous<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>concentrates<\/strong>\/<strong>flavours<\/strong> if, as a result of a CLP classification, are<strong> considered hazardous<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>prefilled POD<\/strong> or devices, <strong>if the contained e-liquid requires the SDS<\/strong> .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\"><\/p>\n<p>If I import a product\/substance from an extra EU Country, can I use the SDS my supplier provides me?<\/h3><\/div>\n<p><strong>No<\/strong>, you can\u2019t; <strong>SDS have different formats in different parts of the world<\/strong>, defined by specific regulations. Also the hazardous classification systems, are not globally aligned.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>European Union<\/strong>, for example, the <strong>REACH regulation<\/strong> forsees a <strong>SDS format consisting of 16 sections<\/strong>, each one containing specific information. Moreover, the hazardousness of the mixture is defined on the basis of CLP regulation criteria and its amendments.<br \/>\nThe <strong>SDS<\/strong> must be <strong>written in the official language of the Member State<\/strong> in which the product is placed on the market, for an immediate understanding by professional users; since some Member States has specific requests, a<strong> simple translation is not sufficient<\/strong>, but a <strong>State-specific adaptation is needed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So, <strong>imported products require the authoring of a specific SDS for the Country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-4 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\"><\/p>\n<p>Does a SDS have to be consistent with other documents?<\/h3><\/div>\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong>, it has to. For instance, Section 2 of the European SDS format contains the classification of the mixture\/substance: it lists the hazard identification and labelling elements (pictograms, signal words and hazard and precautionary statements).
