{"id":6296,"date":"2019-11-28T13:02:39","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T12:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trusticert.com\/?p=6296"},"modified":"2020-01-31T10:37:25","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T09:37:25","slug":"e-liquids-labels-which-are-the-mandatory-elements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging-vaping.trusticert.com\/en\/e-liquids-labels-which-are-the-mandatory-elements\/","title":{"rendered":"<b>E-liquids labels: which are the mandatory elements?<\/b>"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">mins<\/span><\/span><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>TPD, CLP, Consumer Code, local requirements &#8230; what information is currently mandatory to be included on the label in e-liquids with and without nicotine to comply with all the regulations governing vaping products in the EU?<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-1 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\">e-liquids with nicotine<\/h3><\/div>\n<p>Labels of nicotine containing e-liquids must include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nicotine content (in mg\/ml);<\/li>\n<li>amount of nicotine delivered per dose (mg\/10ml);<\/li>\n<li>health warning (having specific graphic requirements on font and size, e.g: it covers 30% of the surface, percentage raised to 32% for Member States with two official languages \u200b\u200band 35% for those with more than two official languages); in some Member States it is also mandatory for zero nicotine;<\/li>\n<li>recommendation of keeping the product out of children\u2019s reach;<\/li>\n<li>list of ingredients above the 0,1% (weight\/weight) in descending order of weight;<\/li>\n<li>signal words, pictograms and its relative warning, precautionary statements and tactile triangle, if the mixture is dangerous according to the CLP Regulation;<\/li>\n<li>a recommendation on disposal;<\/li>\n<li>data of the manufacturer\/the importer (name, address and telephone number);<\/li>\n<li>batch number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The label shall be in the official language of the Member State where the product is marketed. Some Member States require more than one language.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\">Nicotine zero liquids<\/h3><\/div>\n<p>The requirements for products without nicotine are different, for which they must be reported:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a recommendation for keeping the product out of children\u2019s reach;<\/li>\n<li>a recommendation on disposal;<\/li>\n<li>signal words, pictograms and its relative warning, precautionary statements and the tactile triangle, if the mixture is dangerous according to the CLP Regulation;<\/li>\n<li>instructions and precautions for use;<\/li>\n<li>data of the manufacturer\/the importer (name, address and telephone number);<\/li>\n<li>batch number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is important to remember that in some States nicotine-free products are assimilated to those with nicotine; therefore the labeling must comply with the TPD requirements and must therefore include, in addition to the above-mentioned elements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>health warning, according to the same specifications previously indicated;<\/li>\n<li>list of ingredients above the 0,1% (weight\/weight) in descending order of weight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:32;line-height:1.5;\">Verification of compliance<\/h3><\/div>\n<p>All so simple? Of course it\u2019s not &#8230; Member States may add specific requirements on labeling and additional national regulations. The regulatory framework can change rapidly and independently in each Member State.<\/p>\n<p>It is also possible to indicate a series of non-mandatory elements, that can be particularly appealing to consumers. On the other hand, there is information that cannot be used in the label of a product.<\/p>\n<p>It is therefore always advisable to carry out a professional check on the conformity of the labels, both for products already on the market and for launches in new national markets.
